Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of the YouTube Playlist Search Chrome extension ("the extension"). By installing or using it, you agree to the terms below. The extension is free and open source. If any clause here doesn't work for you, you can uninstall it at any time.
What you're getting
The extension is a small content script that adds a real-time search field to YouTube's playlist UI. It is provided free of charge, with no accounts, no subscriptions, and no in-app purchases. The full source code is available on GitHub under the MIT license.
License
The extension's source code is licensed under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify, and redistribute the code under the terms of that license. Copyright © 2026 Nimit Bhargava.
Acceptable use
Use the extension in good faith. Don't:
- Use it as part of a tool that abuses YouTube's terms of service, scrapes private data, or impersonates YouTube.
- Re-publish a modified version on the Chrome Web Store under the same name or with branding designed to confuse users about its origin.
- Bundle it with malware, ad injection, or any unrelated tracking code, and then distribute the result.
Privacy
The extension collects no data. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
Relationship to YouTube and Google
This extension is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube, Google, or Alphabet Inc. "YouTube" is a trademark of Google LLC. The extension runs entirely on the user's device and modifies only the visible page in the user's own browser session.
YouTube's terms still apply
Your use of YouTube is governed by YouTube's own Terms of Service. Nothing in this document changes that. The extension only filters the playlist UI that YouTube already shows you; it does not access anything you couldn't see without it.
No warranty
The extension is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. YouTube updates its user interface frequently; while the extension is built to absorb redesigns through layered selector fallbacks, no guarantee is made that it will continue to work after a given YouTube change.
Limitation of liability
In no event shall the author be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability (whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise) arising from, out of, or in connection with the extension or its use. This limitation applies to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the extension changes. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the extension after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
